This advanced, hands-on training is designed for current Project Learning Tree (PLT) educators who are ready to take the next step in leadership by becoming certified PLT facilitators. Participants should already have experience using the Explore Your Environment: K–8 Activity Guide and be prepared to help others discover the power of environmental education.
Throughout the day, participants will learn how to plan and lead engaging PLT educator workshops, model best practices in environmental education, and connect PLT’s lessons to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. Emphasis will be placed on effective facilitation strategies, workshop logistics, and strengthening statewide networks of environmental educators.
Each new facilitator will receive the Trees & Me: Activities for Exploring Nature with Young Children guide and the Green Jobs: Exploring Forest Careers guide—two resources that expand PLT’s reach across age groups and career pathways.
By the end of this training, participants will be equipped and authorized to conduct PLT workshops, inspire fellow educators, and grow the next generation of environmentally literate Texans.
