Based on the results of the new (Round 10) BMP Compliance Report, Texas Forestry Association’s SFI committee has determined that all current Texas Pro Loggers must attend a LIVE six-hour CEU in BMP’s for forest roads and stream crossings (including firebreaks) in either 2020 or 2021.

The BMP Enhanced Training is silvicultural immersion educational opportunity that includes classroom presentations and a field led discussion. The classroom portion of the training will delve into the origins of BMPs and the significance they bring for shaping attitudes and perceptions of the logging and forestry industry. Specific BMP topics covered will include stream crossings, roads & skid trails, streamside management zones (SMZ), operational planning, and other various pertinent topics. The field portion will be spent at a non-active harvest site assessing the quality and nuances associated with the BMPs that have and/or have not been implemented post-harvest.

Bring rain gear and a hard hat.  Lunch is provided
